A BIG welcome to the website!

Hi

If you are a visitor to the website you are very welcome here!  My name is Raymond Van Neste and along with the co-founder: Iris Chao, in Hong Kong, founded Painting for Charity in 2006.

Painting for Charity is a not for profit voluntary group working towards its goal of becoming a registered charity in the United Kingdom.  However, although the charity's website has a United Kingdom domain it is in fact a global group and has a diverse multicultural foundation where not only the members are from different countries around the world but also the art, photography and crafts of the members are a reflection of this great cultural tradition!

The original vision of Painting for Charity was to raise money for a number of different causes but as time has gone on it decided to devote itself entirely to supporting the causes of elderly people around the world.   This ultimate cause can involve various campaigns, for elderly people, especially at a local level.  Painting for Charity's purpose of supporting causes for elderly people is at a very early stage and is still in the process of searching for a global campaign that it can support.

Also, a very big breakthrough for Painting for Charity is that it has now got its own dedicated website, launched in September 2008, where it can promote  and sell its art and photography as well as highlight the articles and poetry of the voluntary contributors.  Previously, Painting for Charity was hosted on another non-profit website (Lovely Faces Portraits) and this proved to be very difficult in terms of getting the confidence and backing of potential supporters of the cause to help elderly people around the world.   However, this has now changed and Painting for Charity is now free at last to concentrate on its purpose of raising money for its cause!   I hope very much that you enjoy the experience of visiting this website!

Thank you for visiting!
